Receding Universe, 2022
Receding Universe is an immersive installation inspired by a Korean folktale in which a child attempts to grasp a rainbow.
I transpose this narrative into a contemporary context by pursuing a nuclear cloud over a period of three months, camera in hand.
Two videos are projected through lenses: one documents my pursuit of clouds, while the other presents a constellation of images drawn from astronomical software and space archives.
The sound, recorded at the Cattenom nuclear power plant, immerses the viewer in a sensory and cosmic landscape.
This work questions our relationship to origins, light, and memory.
The lenses function as temporal portals, diffusing light that originates from a distant past.

Video shooting in pursuit of clouds
– Duration : 3 months
– 12 journeys
– 4–5 hours round trip each
The objective of this filming process was to always depart from the same location and reach the source of the clouds.
Each journey was oriented according to the area where the clouds were visible.
